A Midland resident since 2010, Susan May loves her community—especially the welcoming people and the quick, 20-minute commutes!
A retired college and junior high school science teacher, she continues her passion for nature through the Llano Estacado Texas Master Naturalists. Her volunteer work has sparked a deep appreciation for the Permian Basin’s native flora and fauna, with a special love for photographing native bees and dragonflies. As a member of the Midland Gem and Mineral Society, she channels her creative energy into rock collecting, outdoor exploration, and jewelry making. She also runs a small business, Dragonfly Journeys, where she sells custom jewelry and hand-crafted automatons. At home, she and her husband share their lives with two rescue dogs, Milo and Macie. She and Milo recently competed in their first Hot Dog Race and had a blast! She is honored to serve with the Midland Humane Coalition to help save and rehome loving cats and dogs. |
