A legendary Midland entrepreneur (of Susie's South Forty Confections fame) and visionary philanthropist, Susie Hitchcock-Hall changed the landscape of local animal welfare forever when she and co-founders, LuAnn Morgan and Paul O'Neill founded the Midland Humane Coalition (MHC) in 2011.

Driven by a deep love for animals and a fierce commitment to her community, Susie envisioned a future where no adoptable pet was left behind.

Her leadership, passion, and infectious energy laid the groundwork for MHC’s life-saving mission, uniting animal lovers across the region and rescuing thousands of cats and dogs over the last fifteen years.

As a two-time successful business woman and entrepreneur, Susie has received a prestigious induction into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame by the state's governor, recognizing her outstanding achievements. Her deep affection for her hometown, Midland, and her active involvement in community volunteer work are integral to Susie's life and the foundation of her accomplishments. 

Today, Susie still actively serves on the board and donates countless hours and resources to help Midland Humane Coalition's  fundraising events. 

​When she's not busy running her candy business and helping saving lives, she loves spending time with her MHC rescue dog (Bogie) and beloved cat.
