Midland Humane Coalition and our race sponsors invite you to don your capes, costumes and disguises and round up your trusty 4-legged sidekicks for a most rewarding run to help us save cats & dogs.

We're excited to bring to life an electrifying race for a worthy cause!

Hot Dog Run is Midland’s favorite dog-friendly race that allows participants to run/walk (or fly) with their four-legged sidekicks! People and pets of all ages, sizes and breeds come together each year for a fun event to help save the lives of Midland’s homeless cats & dogs.

On its 9th year, Hot Dog Run has been gaining momentum since it started in 2015, averaging 350-400 participants (and their dogs).

Run for the finish line alongside your trusty sidekick and fellow pet lovers. Did we mention we have a superhero theme this year?

WHY SUPPORT HOT DOG RUN?
Hot Dog Run is an important fundraiser for Midland Humane Coalition, helping us rescue our community’s homeless cats & dogs and give them a second chance to find furr-ever homes.

Each year, we rescue an average of 300-400 pets from various desperate situations and give them a lifeline. The more funds we raise, the more cats & dogs we can save!

RACE DAY SCHEDULE
7:30 AM - Registration opens
8:30 AM - 5K begins
8:35 AM - 1 Mile begins
8:45 AM - FREE Texas Roadhouse Breakfast for all
9:00 AM - Awards
9:30 AM - Pet Costume Competition begins

*All Dogs must be leashed and vaccinated. Please keep your dogs by your side at all times, keep retractable leashes locked and clean up after your pet.

We're very proud of our HOT DOG RUN goodies - shirts, medals, and bibs. Our goal is to create a memorable race experience for all our participants and send you home with fabulous keepsakes!

Participants will receive race packets with race t-shirt(optional add-on), swag and custom-designed "SUPER DOG" race finishers medal and bibs.

FAQs

Can my kids join hot dog run?

Kids of all ages are encouraged to join! Hot Dog Run is a wonderful wholesome activity for the whole family. The 1 Mile is the perfect distance for younger participants.

CAN I BRING A STROLLER FOR MY KID/DOG?

Some participants opt to push strollers so their little kids and smaller and mobility challenged dogs can participate.

CAN I JOIN HOT DOG RUN WITHOUT A DOG?

Absolutely!

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A COSTUME TO RUN?

We encourage participants to wear a costume for their own enjoyment. However, it is not mandatory. Dress comfortably as you please. Bear in mind there is a Pet Costume Competition right after the race, which is loads of fun!
