Wendys Rodriguez

Wendys has been to pretty much every Shot Clinic since she started volunteering. She enjoys helping out so much so that she even brought her husband along one day! Wendys is a joy to work with - always cheerful and very patient in dealing with long lines of people coming through. We're truly lucky to have her on the team.

Thank you for your time, Wendys!

MHC Volunteer since: 6 months

Volunteer position/s?
My first time to help was at the Shot Clinics. I saw the information on Instagram and asked about how can I help and after that I became a walker dogs

Fun Facts:
I'm from Venezuela and I live in Midland, Texas. I like sports; I play ultimate frisbee every Saturday, and tennis when the weather is great.  I'm a social person and love make new friends.  I enjoy helping other people.

Got pets?
I have two dogs (both rescued) and the last one just found two weeks ago downtown(Midland) on the streets.  I wish can rescue all the dogs but it's a good start for one.

Why do you volunteer with MHC? What motivates you to stay involved?
I do volunteer because it is my way to help all the dogs that need love. A dog is more than an animal -- it is a friend, a son,  everything -- if you really love it.

I do it because I can help to bring smiles to all the dogs that were abandoned and it fills me with joy when they are happy to see me.

In your opinion, what is the most important work that this organization does?
Everything is important. Taking care of every single dog that is there and treating them well until they get a home.

Has volunteering with MHC had a positive impact on your life?  Tell us about a time/incident  that was especially meaningful for you while volunteering with MHC.
Yes, it  feels so good to help the dogs and know that they appreciate it too.

If you could encourage someone else to volunteer with MHC, what would you tell them?
Do it and enjoy one of the happiest experiences that you could ever have.

What is your favorite thing about volunteering with MHC?
Helping all the dogs!
